The word of God is living and active; it sifts the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
Hebrews 4.12
All are welcome to join us this Sunday, October 19, 2025, to celebrate the liturgy of Holy Eucharist at St. Andrew's Anglican Church in New Carlisle. Whether you are a long-time member, or are attending for the first time, welcome to our parish. This Sunday we explore the parable of the unjust judge from Luke's gospel as Jesus teaches us to pray constantly and not lose hope. With the prophet Jeremiah we explore the covenant of the heart, remembering that our faith is personal and relational; we all know God in our own particular way. From St. Paul we are reminded to hold fast to the truth, and to be persistent in our faith. From the Psalms we learn that the word of God is both beautiful and helpful in providing wisdom.
Readings for this Sunday: JEREMIAH 31:27-34; PSALM 119:97-104; 2 TIMOTHY 3:14-4:5; LUKE 18:1-8 Hymns for this Sunday: #350 Stand Up and Bless the Lord; I Know Not Why God's Wondrous Grace; #438 O Jesus I have Promised; #57 Thou, Who at Thy First Eucharist Didst Pray; #565 Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah.
