To the Parishioners of the Parishes of New Carlisle & Chaleur Bay.

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ;

Greetings to one and all in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all as we enter into this New Year of 2021, full of renewed hope and facing the ongoing challenges and struggles of life.

On January 6, 2021 (Epiphany) the Quebec government announced a new set of measures aimed at restricting the ongoing spread of Covid-19 in the province. These measures do impact our life together as a worshipping community, and Bishop Bruce Myers has issued a communication to all the parishes outlining how those measures will affect the activites of our churches. You will find a copy of that communication in PDF format in both official languages below.

In-worship services will be suspended in all congregation between the dates of January 9 and February 8. During this time you are invited to join Bishop Bruce Myers for Home Prayers at 10:30 (EST) Sunday Morning via Facebook Live:

Bethany and I will also continue to lead a Service of Evening Prayer on Sunday Evenings at 7:00 PM (EST) also via Facebook Live:

During the week we stay connected with Evening Prayer on Wednesday and Bible Study on the Prophet Isaiah on Friday afternoon. These take place on Zoom, and can be accessed on the links below.

Wednesday Evening Prayer. 7:00 PM (EST)

Friday Bible Study 3:00 PM (EST)

Throughout the week you are invited to contact the Rev. Joshua Paetkau by telephone, email, or Facebook Messenger. I would be happy to pray with you, read the Scriptures together, or even just chat about how you are doing. These are tough times, but, as Red Green used to say, "We're all in this together." We will get through, and we will uphold and support each other in our walk of faith.

Your servant in Christ,

the Rev. Joshua Paetkau

Rector of the Parishes of New Carlisle & Chaleur Bay.
