The Psalmist spurs us on to courage in Psalm 27 - though war should break out against me, I will not be afraid." In our gospel reading, Jesus resolutely sets his face toward Jerusalem. Though he knows that death awaits him there, he is adamant that he will not be dissuaded from the work of casting out demons, healing the sick, and perfecting the love that is within him.
